Welcome to First Baptist Church Glasgow, Missouri

Located along the mighty Missouri River in the heart of Missouri's "Little Dixie", the Baptist Church has been in service to the Lord in this area since 1820. Organized in the once thriving town of Chariton the church sold its property in 1860 and moved to the City of Glasgow. The present Glasgow Museum was the original Baptist church. The building was sold and the present building was “dedicated to the worship of God” on November 5th, 1871.
From the time of our establishment in the Missouri Territory to the present, we have proclaimed Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, as Savior and Lord.
We are a Fundamental, Bible Believing, New Testament, Missionary, Baptist Church. We are affiliated with the Mount Zion Baptist Association, the Missouri Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
We hold fast to the Scriptural Principles of the Baptist Faith and Message and invite you to join us in Worship and Service to the Lord.
